In 2017, UKABS are hosting two conferences: Buddhist Practice and Liturgy in the UK (20th May, Manchester) and the UKABS One-Day Annual Conference (1st July, SOAS). For more detail about both of these conferences, see below.

Buddhist Practice and Liturgy in the UK

Conference/workshop run by UK Association for Buddhist Studies, to bring scholars and practitioners of different traditions together in exploring themes of shared interest.

10am to 5pm, Saturday May 20th at the Samatha Trust’s Manchester Centre for Buddhist Meditation, 19–21 High Lane, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, M21 9DJ (reachable by Metro from central Manchester).

Cost £15 (£10 non-waged) which includes lunch.

UKABS One-Day Annual Conference

The annual UKABS one-day Conference will be held on the 1st July 2017, Senate House Room, SOAS, University of London.

Registration Fee for UKABS one-day conference (2017): UKABS members: £25 (£15 students/monastic members/retired)

Non-UKABS members: £35 (£25 students/monastic members/retired)

Lunch is included for those who book before Friday 16 June. If you would like to reserve a place, please send a cheque payable to UKABS to Dr Caroline Starkey, School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science, LG13 Baines Wing, University of Leeds, Leeds LS2 9JT with details of your name and any special dietary requirements.
